While baking cookies on Saturday with my sisters a video game conversation came up…

-have you ever played RockBand? - 21

-yeah, not much but yeah. It’s cool. - Me

-yeah, I love it - 15

-i played last night on PlayStation3. It’s awesome. - 21

-it is. We should get a PS3 and get RB - I said (JOKING)

-what are you talking about?? Don’t you know that RockBand comes for XboX, PS3 and Wii?? - 15

When she said that I automatically pictured the huge RockBand boxes strategically placed in BestBuy.

-really? - i said

My younger sister (21) noticed how my indifference was quickly replaced with a huge smile after asking for a reconfirmation from my little sister (15).

-you want it too? Your face says it all. Lets go and get it! NOW! - 21 said

We finished the cookies, took showers and went straight to BestBuy. On the way we talked about how we were NOT going to make a fuzz out of it and that we were just going to seeeeee, IF it was available. We got there and took a cart with us. You know… in case it was needed.

RockBand:Check.

In the trance we almost buy another guitar for the bass and another microphone for the harmonies, but we didn’t.

Got to the house and immediately set everything up. There were plastic bags everywhere. My mom was sort of shocked not because of the greatness of the game but because she was wondering where we were going to place all those fake instruments after we were done. I really wasn’t paying attention because I was busy with the Quick-Start manual.

Once it was all set, my mom just sat down to watch us play. Yeah, like kids. This was meant to be. My younger sister (21) had the drums, my little sister (15) had the guitar on lefty mode and I had my vocal cords ready to rock the hell out of that game.

At some point my mom asked what she had been wanting to ask since we came back:

-how much did you spend in all this?
-mom, look at us. Family unity is priceless - 15 replied.

Rock On!!

PS: then my dad came home, but that’s another post.
